The leaves aretypical 20-50 cm long (occasionally up to 100 cm atoptimum growth conditions), 3-10 cm broad and wavy on thesides. The primary form of Aponogeton ulvaceusis rather rare, and most available plants are hybrids. Asmany other Aponogetons this plant requires a period of rest. In winter cut off the roots and leavesand put it into unwashed sand in flowerpots in cold waterfor two months in a dark place. Or less circumstantial, place the tuber in a flowerpot on the windowsill together with a ordinary plant which never dries out. After this period of rest, put it back into the tank.
