Echinodorus 'Rosé'

Echinodorus 'Rosé'

  • Description
  • More Details
The youngest leaf is nearly always of a pink colour and even spotted in bright light. Height: 50-70 cm. Growth rate: Monthly 2 - 3 leaves. Requirements: Undemanding. Special note: Ideal plant for the Cichlid aquarium as Cichlids seem to dislike the taste, besides: the leaves grow back very fast indeed.

Echinodorus 'Rosé' is ahybrid between E. horizontalis and E. horemanii"Rot" and was first produced by H. Barth in Dessau, the former Eastern Germany. On submerged plants the old leaves are brownish-green whereas the youngleaves are beautifully red coloured whereas the emergent leaves are yellow-green. It is a very sturdy plant which does not require any special conditions. It does, however, prefer a relatively fertile substrate as mostother fast growing plants. Many other new hybrid aquarium plants are quite difficult to culture in the aquarium but Echinodorus 'Rosé' is very modest and at the same time beautiful too. Author: Tropica
