Aponogeton longiplumulosus has large, fluted leaves, making it a wonderful plant which can be recommended for large aquariums. It is relatively undemanding, and makes no special demands on water quality. It also flowers frequently, making it a beautiful addition to any large open aquarium. Aponogeton Madagascar Lace Bulb

Aponogeton Madagascar Lace
Aponogeton madagascariensis is without comparison among the oddest plants in ouraquaria. Instead of normal mesophyll, a lattice full ofholes develops and this makes the plant a rarity in every botanical garden or collection of water plants. However, Aponogeton madagascariensis is a very difficult plant to growand should be kept as a proud solitary plant only inspecialised aquaria. It requires a nutrient and calcarious substrate with frequent water replacement because it tends to loose the older leaves in 'oldwater'.

Also, Aponogeton madagascariensis prefers diffused indirect light as it comes from shady banks and brooks with no direct sunshine. In allcircumstances this is a very diffucul plant to culturealso because the many different varieties require quite different environmental conditions. Nowadays, Aponogetonmadagascariensis is also produced from tissue cultures.

Aponogeton Ulvaceus bulb

Aponogeton ulvaceus

The primary form of Aponogeton ulvaceusis rather rare, and most available plants are hybrids. Asmany other Aponogetons this plant requires a period of rest. In winter cut off the roots and leavesand put it into unwashed sand in flowerpots in cold waterfor two months in a dark place. Or less circumstantial, place the tuber in a flowerpot on the windowsill together with a ordinary plant which never dries out. After this period of rest, put it back into the tank. Author: Tropica
