Rotala Indica- If given enough light the leaves are a very pretty red color. Under more moderate light it stays green. Either color is attractive.  Very hardy and get be kept low or let it it grow to the top. When grown emersed the leaves are green and rounded. Submersed the leaves change to a much thinner and elogated.  This is by far one of easiest plants to grow, which sets it apart from of some of the other Rotalas.
  • Rotala rotundifolia (AKA Rotala indica) This plant has light red hues under strong lighting as seen in picture 2 and is a prolific grower.
  • These will be clippings off of my own.
  • This plant is a very hardy plant Which will thrive in most tanks without any special care.

Sagittaria subulata ( giant Sagittaria )

1 Freshwater plant Sagittaria subulata Giant sag
!
TN_broadleafsag
Sagittaria subulata is common and widespread in South and North America. It is a modest plant and therefore a good starter plant, though it prefers a relatively fine substrate. The narrow leaves it placed in a rosette and tubers are sometime set on the offshoots. Placed in the foreground it soon develops a dense cover from offshoots. For years Sagittaria subulata maintains its low growth form but dependent on for example age, light intensity and populationdensity it suddenly stretches up to a height of 50 cm andsets flowers. Such plants are often mistaken for Vallisneria. Replanted in the background of the aquarium Sagittaria subulata often turns back into the low growth form.

Sunset Hygrophilia ( Hygrophila polysperma )

ab 4-6 Aquatic Plant Sunset Hygro
!
TN_sunset_hygro128

Hygrophila polysperma ‘Rosanervig’ is usually an undemanding plant. But if you want deep-pink leaves you must provide intensive light. The distinctive colouring of the light leaf ribs is probably caused by a virus which prevents chlorophyll from being produced in the cells around the leaf ribs, making them white. However, this virus does not affect other plants in the aquarium.
